2020-2021 preparations for HSF transition into Hamilton Heritage Farm, LLC
Fencing
We will always remember the last project Alan lent a hand on, the installation of the new horse pasture fence Neighbors stopped to admire our work along the way, including Leslie Stith, who was driving by with his wife and stopped to chat. The Hamilton Boys, as they called the crew, included Alan, his son Garret, David, and Jeff.
Waterway and Sinkhole repair
Sinkholes across Kentucky's karst landscape have been improperly used to dump old farm equipment, fencing, and tires. Our sinkholes are no exception. I started removing debris from specific water basin sinkholes throughout the summer of 2019. The results are impressive, as the two main sinkholes I opened carried the excess runoff for the majority of the North 200 acres. It time, we will get those sinkholes properly prepared to accept excess rainfall for decades to come!
Deer Stand Improvement
New Deer Hunting Ladder Stand placement, a tall cedar tamped tight into a post-hole and complete with roof and camo netting for whole-season use.
Baling Hay - preparing new equipment
Logan English has been a great help, providing years of mechanic knowledge and electrical wiring help to prep equipment so we could roll the first bale in several years.
